Protein Burger Buns


These low-carb burger buns are healthy and delicious. Save your carbs for kumara fries.....or for dessert haha.

These burger buns are easy to make. All I did was use the Protein Bread 6 Seed mix and followed the instructions but halved the mixture.

This homemade burger has my special peanut-butter sauce and homemade meat patties. I'll include the sauce recipe below.

Ingredients

  • 220 ml cups of water

1 whole extra large egg (or 50mL egg whites)

  • 15 ml tablespoon of white vinegar or malt vinager

Prepare Preheat to bake in oven to 180°C and grease 2 to 3 small cake tins.

Mix Empty 1/2 contents of this pack into a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together water, eggs and vinegar. Pour the wet mix into the dry mix and gently fold until just combined.

Pour Pour the mixture into your lined loaf tin. Use a spatula to ensure no mixture is wasted. Spread out the mixture and sprinkle with your favourite seeds.

Bake Place on the top shelf of pre-heated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Depending on your oven you may want more or less bake time. Wait until the burger buns have risen and look golden brown. After baking, remove from tin and place on cooling rack.

Storage Bread must be stored in the fridge (1-4°C) for up to 5 days or the freezer (-18°C) in sandwich bags for up to 3 months.

Directions

Combine ingredients together and mix well. You can add a little more maple syrup to get your desired consistency.

Add a generous amount to your burger.
